  • Details of the Research Plan: https://joint1.imi.kyushu-u.ac.jp/en_research_chooses/view/2023a004
  • Abstract: The performance of quantum computers is improving rapidly: in the year 2022, IBM’s superconducting quantum computer increased from 127 qubits to 433 qubits. Quantinuum, which is developing trapped-ion quantum computers, provides 20-qubit quantum computers with 219 = 524,288 quantum volume, a measure of performance, and a 32-qubit quantum computer with 216 = 65,536 quantum volume.
Based on the roadmaps for the development of quantum computers by various companies, it is expected that the number of qubits and quantum volume values will continue to increase at a considerable rate. The number of available quantum computers is also increasing. Therefore, it is important to continue to provide a quantum computing training. We organize a training for students and researchers on the following dates.
    – September 13: Hybrid format (in person + webinar)
Contents: overview of quantum computing, quantum computing initiatives at Mitsui, quantum computing initiatives at Microsoft and introduction of the quantum cloud computing service Azure Quantum, introduction of Quantinuum Quantum SDK TKET
Target: People interested in quantum computing
    – September 14: Hybrid format (in person + webinar)
    Content: Quantum computing with TKET
Target: People interested in quantum computing
    – September 15: In person only (capacity of 20 people, select person will be held if there are more applicants than capacity)
Content: Quantum computing exercises using TKET Target: Person who can attend both 13 and 14 September.
